God really does work in mysterious ways His wonders to perform. It is hard for a human being to comprehend God’s dealings. The scriptures are indeed true, Who can grasp God’s infinite wisdom? Who can fathom the depths of His love? God is beautiful beyond description! Majesty, enthroned above! I find a lot meaning in the words of St. John Crysostom,”A comprehended god is no god at all”.
As I look back at my marriage with Enid, I can clearly say there was a purpose to my years of loneliness and pain. I was waiting for Enid and sometimes you ask, God why did it take so long to find her in this whole wide big world. Well, my answer is right there. All in His own sweet time, He’s prepared our hearts for one another. He opened up our eyes and we discovered love.
We searched to find a true love. He filled our heart’s desires for we waited on Him while we grew as friends. All in His own sweet time. Our future keeps on unfolding, our love keeps on growing, all in His own sweet time. He is a God of love summoning a bird of prey from the east and the south that His will may be done.
Sometimes we feel like God has dropped us on another planet and forgotten about us. But that’s not God’s way. He works quietly in the background drawing the dangling threads of our lives together, weaving His purpose into our days. God’s divine providence made our paths meet and since then we are on this journey to forever together. Only God can love more than I do for He is the one that gave me the love I have for her. It is almost unbelievable that our love was in His will. All I can say is that Destiny or should I say providence is not a matter of choice, it is nether a thing to be waited for, but rather, it is a thing to be achieved.
I’m glad that we’re not able to know everything or be able to understand all that God is and all that God does. That way, each day is always new, each time we catch a glimpse of Him we aren’t comfortable. Each time he reveals something of His nature we stand in awe without familiarity. We can gaze on Jesus and always know more and more but we will not know everything, until that day (1 John 3:2) when we will be like him….
A God we could formulate and fully comprehend would make such a God our equal – or our inferior. We must never forget there is and always be an ultimate difference between the Creator and his creation; he is altogether wholly Other.
Thank You Lord for Enid and thank you for my children, thank you Lord for family. Who can number the sand of the sea, and the drops of rain and the days of eternity? I am amazed at your Glory embraced by Your mercy. Oh Lord, I live to worship You.
